The Personalized Learning pathway is a combination of the best features of classroom instruction with the best features of blended and online learning. This option, designed for juniors and seniors looking for greater flexibility in their school schedule, provides students the ability to enroll in college courses, participate in internships, or work, while attending high school. Through this option, students can also choose to participate in full independent learning at home by choosing from a selection of virtual courses or meet on campus, with a credentialed teacher, for up to three full-time classes each week. At the heart of the Personalized Learning option is the student’s one-on-one relationship with their Mentor Teacher. Mentor Teachers provide each student with specific choices based on academic readiness, strength assessments, and potential college majors.

Classical learning
The Classical Learning pathway, modeled after Oxford University’s seminar-based learning, provides students with a robust curriculum focused on humanities and the arts. Core learning is centered on focused conversations, normally between four or five students and their Mentor Teacher. During these conversations, students have the opportunity to discuss the subject they are learning in depth, and they receive individual feedback on their work

In addition to the humanities small group focus, the Classical Learning pathway delivers curriculum to students through full-time classroom instruction, offered four days a week, and through various online platforms, enabling students to work in a classroom with a credentialed teacher and peers, or independently. With the availability of both the Traditional Learning and Flex Learning options, ECHS prepares students to enter the post-high school world with a wide range of opportunities.
